An activist, environmentalist, conservationist – Rakesh Soud has dedicated his life for wild life conservation
As years rolled by, during the year 2009 he decided to work on societal issues and understand the Ecological perspective. He worked in NIF-Assam cell in ‘Bodo’ community villages living in Northern part of Assam. He understood that in these areas, there is a perennial problem of Elephants destroying human inhabitants and despite of so much conflict, both these species still co-exist. It was then he decided to pursue his PHD on human dimensions of understanding Elephants.
While his batch mates chose to move away from Assam and pursue jobs in the mainstream Indian cities, Rakesh chose to continue his passion for environmental activism. This man with enriching experience of working with various communities still working tirelessly to save the wild life with a hope that someday we will cease to kill and live with dignity and co-exist with other creations of the almighty.
Thanks a million and please carry on the rewarding work.
