What strikes your mind seeing the following pictures? Perhaps, they are some beautiful photographs, taken by some really good photographers! Well, if you think they are photographs, you are mistaken. Have a look once again. These are not photographs, but realistic paintings of Zaria Forman.
Zaria Forman’s paintings of icebergs and landscapes are so real that seeing them, one gets totally amazed and could not believe their own eyes. Zaria uses her fingers to create these beautiful realistic paintings. She has completely a different and unique style of creating art.
When I travel, I take thousands of photographs and make small sketches. Once I am back in the studio, I draw from my memory of the experience, as well as the photographs to create large scale compositions. I add layers of color onto the paper, smudging everything with my fingers and hand, Zaria said.
Zaria’s mother’s photography has inspired her own paintings. ‘Chasing the Light’, Zaria’s collection is a tribute to her mother, who died from brain cancer. Through her work, Zaria also hopes to raise awareness of climate change.
