First batch of students completed their training from Women’s Self Defense School in Mumbai
Women’s Self Defense Centre (WSDC) is a school started for women’s self defense by Akshay Kumar and Aaditya Thackeray. On 2nd August, 2014, first batch of 30 girls completed their training (level 1) from the school in Andheri, Mumbai.
The training was managed by a team of highly experienced trainers like Mehul Vora, Megha Rawal Vora, Jatin Naik, Abhishek Thakkar, Vipul Suru, Dhrumil Mehta and others.
“I started off this journey because of Mr. Akshay Kumar and Mr. Aaditya Thackeray, and I am thankful to them. Today on completion of the 1st batch of Graduation Ceremony, I realized the power of giving and I have made some amazing friends for life” – Mehul Vora (Instructor)
“I have attended a few self defence classes in the past, but this one was different. I have come away from this training with a significantly enhanced awareness and confidence in the ability to defend myself, when needed. Additionally, my overall fitness has improved by practising regularly. Their practical approach to self defence is inspiring” – Kashmira Sanjana (WSDC 1st batch student)
“At Women’s Self Defense Centre, the very first day we learnt about possible objects that can be used as weapons, the weak points on the body of the offender, weapons that we could carry in bag and techniques to use them. And then the extensive practice for 2 days on hitting and kicking. The best part is, the whole course is absolutely free and the trainers prepared us to face the world” – Bhavna Dholam (WSDC 1st batch student)
