Tad Agoglia, founder of First Response, providing emergency aid to disaster hit areas
Tad Agoglia is the founder of the First Response team of America. It is a self-funded, non-profit, four-man clean-up crew that provides immediate, emergency aid to the areas hit by disasters. He got this crazy idea to use one of his cranes to just open up roads after a disaster and that is how ‘First Response’ team was formed.
Since May 2007, the team has helped thousands of victims at 15 disaster sites across the United States and has become a recognized name in first responder aid. Criss-crossing the country and responding to every type of disaster, Tad Agoglia and his First Response team have very well understood the situations of the people, hit by such disasters.
Initially, I thought I’d respond to one or two storms a year, But the demand has been so great, I couldn’t say no, said Agoglia.
In 2010, Tad was awarded a Jefferson Award for community and public service. Tad was also selected as a Top Ten Hero in 2008 CNN Heroes contest, under the Community Crusader category. Agoglia was also nominated as a finalist in GQ’s 2010 Better Man, Better World Search.
When determination is strong enough, one can do wonders. Tad Skylar Agoglia has proved it too well, who without bothering anything, came forward to help those in need in every possible way.
