An inspirational photo of wife carrying double amputee husband went viral
Love is in the air! Everyone would say that, after seeing this lovely picture of Jesse and Kelly Cottle. It can be seen in the photo that Kelly is giving her double-amputee husband Jesse, a piggyback-ride. When shared by photographer Sarah Ledford on her Facebook page, the photo went viral on the internet.
In 2009, Jesse Cottle, 28, lost both legs in Afghanistan in an IED attack during his tour of duty. The incident was recorded by a fellow Marine on a helmet camera. It took him months to recover from the injury. During one of his first outings with his new prosthetic legs, Jesse met Kelly.
His personality and who he is, just outweighs his injuries by so much that you forget about it after a while, Kelly explained.
The photo was taken during a trip, when Kelly took Jesse to meet her family in Boise, Idaho. And it was not a planned photograph.
The photo really says it all. I actually look at it very much as a symbol for our whole relationship in general. She’s physically carrying me, but there’s times where she’s carrying me emotionally. It’s a perfect representation of who Kelly is, Jesse says.
This lovely couple had just celebrated their first wedding anniversary on August 18. This photograph of wife carrying her double-amputee Marine husband is one of the most touching and indeed inspirational photographs. With thousands of likes and comments pouring in, this beautiful photo has taken the internet by storm.
