You are never too old to chase your dreams, Diana Nyad fulfilled her long cherished dream at 64 and created history
In 2013, at the age of 64, Diana Nyad became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a protective cage!! It took her about 53 hours non-stop swimming, to reach Key West, Florida, escorted by boats and her team of 35 people.
Diana Nyad is an American author, journalist, motivational speaker, and long-distance swimmer. In 1975, she swam around Manhattan and again in 1979 she swam from North Bimini, The Bahamas, to Juno Beach, Florida.
It was her long cherished dream which was fulfilled after four other failed attempts. Her four other tries were – one in 1978, two in 2011 and one in 2012.
I have three messages: one is we should never ever give up; two is you are never too old to chase your dreams; and three is it looks like a solitary sport but it is a team, said Diana Nyad.
