India’s youngest pilot Ayesha Aziz is only 20 years old, got her license when she was only 16
More than being India’s youngest pilot, I am happy for having accomplished my childhood goal.
It was her childhood dream to fly a plane. Chasing that childhood dream, Ayesha Aziz got her first license as a pilot when she was only 16. And now at 20, Ayesha becomes the country’s youngest pilot.
Ayesha’s craze for flying began on her visits to her native Kashmir, twice or thrice every year. This young girl also got the chance to visit NASA where she met John McBride. Her happiness was double folded when she got an opportunity to interact with Sunita Williams, her second greatest inspiration.
After completing her class X, Ayesha joined the flying school, where she took her ground classes and cleared the five viva sessions. After turning 16, she got her student pilot license in November 2013. But due to some financial problem, her training for commercial pilot got delayed. Ayesha, who now flies single engine Cessna 152 and Cessna 172, says that her family is the reason behind her success.
When I told my father I wanted to be a pilot, he pushed me into it immediately after completing my Class X. It’s great to have understanding parents, says Ayesha Aziz.
While the whole nation is eagerly waiting for June 18, 2016 to witness country’s first batch of female fighter pilots, Ayesha Aziz has made everyone proud by becoming India’s youngest pilot, which is a real inspiration for youngsters.
